On Wednesday, 25th March 2009 the Club held a Projected Image Completion and a Slide Competition.  There was a very large and interesting entry which was judged by Chris Parry and the results were as follows:-

On Monday, 23rd March 2009 the club took part in the Annual Eurotunnel Trophy Competition which was hosted by the Isle of Thanet Photographic Society and judged by Richard Walton.

The clubs taking part were Canterbury, Deal, Folkestone, Gateway and Isle of Thanet and the results were as follows:-

Prints:

Canterbury: 72 points
Deal:  73 points
Folkestone: 65 points
Gateway 71½ points
Isle of Thanet:70 points

Projected Images

Canterbury:: 72  points
Deal: 69 points
Folkestone: 72 points
Gateway :75 points
Isle of Thanet: 69 points

The overall winners with 146½  points were Gateway Camera Club who were presented with the Eurotunnel Trophy by Richard Walton.

The runners-up with 145 points were Canterbury Camera Club.

The following Deal members gained 20 and 19 points for their entries:-

20 points – June Hill with her projected image “Garlic Trio”
20 points – Sarah Smith with her projected image “Surface tension”

On Wednesday, 4th March 2009 the Club held a Panel Competition – Prints.There was a large entry on a variety of subjects.  Members had spent much time putting together some excellent panels.  The judge for the evening was David Brown and the results were as follows:-

19 points:   Ian Farrant (2) and Don Lester
18 points:   June Hill, Valerie Jennings and Vivienne Lavender

Four prints submitted by members were accepted for inclusion in the KenPhotographic Society Exhibiton.  They were June Hill,Don Lester, Nigel May and David Brown (Highly commended).Two slides were also accepted for inclusion from Ian Farrant and Kay Monk.

Ian Farrant was congratulated on being awarded a PAGB Gold Medal for his entry of a Portrait slide.
