Open Aggregate Colour Print Competition

On Wednesday, 17th September 2008 the Club held the first Open Aggregate Colour Print Competition of the Season.
The judge for the evening was Glyn Bareham, President of the Kent County Photographic Association.
There was a large entry on a variety of subjects and the results were as follows:
Intermediate Photographers
20 points: Ian Howard (2),
19 points: Ute Doerfer (2), Ian Howard and John Ridout
In this section the judge selected Ian Howard’s “Siberian Husky” as the top print.
Advanced Photographers
20 points: June Hill and Sarah Smith
19 points: Ian Farrant, Les Mullage and Sarah Smith
18 points: Ian Farrant, June Hill, Vivienne Lavender (2) and Jim Whalley.
In this section the judge selected June Hill’s “Clematis Vincella” as the top print and commented on the increasingly high standard at the club.
June Hill has had two images accepted in the Great Barr (Birmingham) Exhibition – one slide and one digital image.

Presentation of Annual Awards for 2007/2008 Season

On Wednesday, 3rd September 2008 the Club commenced the 2008/2009 Season with the presentation of the Annual Awards for the 2007/2008 Season and a Buffet for members and their guests.
After a welcoming speech by the new Chairman John Harrop, the Club President, Dave Longley presented the Awards to the following members:

Two members gained outside successes during the recess, they were
David Brown gained a Silver medal at the Southwold Salon for his monochrome print “Somewhere, but nowhere”. He also had an acceptance for another monochrome Print “The Causeway” and Ruth Jennings who had her slide “Stepping Down –Dumpton Gap” commented on in the Critique column in a recent edition of Amateur Photographer photographic magazine.
