On Wednesday, 26th March 2008 the Club held an Open Aggregate Monochrome Print Competition.  The judge for the evening was Dave Silk and the results were as follows:

Photography Workshop

I thought club members might be interested to know that I am running a residential mid-week photography workshop in conjunction with Edmund House Guest House in Deal on the 6th to the 8th of May 2008.

On Wednesday, 19th March 2008 the club held a Match It Print Competition for which members had to produce prints which conveyed the sense of an old saying. The competition was arranged by club member June Hill The large entry was
commented on by club members David Brown and Tony Catt and after an elimination round the ten best entries were voted on by the membership and the winner with his print “Two heads are better than one” was Les Mullage.

An enjoyable and interesting evening was had by all members who attended.

On Wednesday, 12th March 2008   the Club held two Open Aggregate Competitions. a Slide Competition and a Digitally Projected Images Competition.
The judge for the evening was Trevor Youe and the results were as follows:

On Wednesday, 5th March 2008 the club took part in the Annual Eurotunnel Challenge Trophy which was hosted by Canterbury Camera Club.  The competing clubs were Canterbury, Deal, Folkestone, Gateway and the Isle of Thanet.

The judge for the evening was Chris Shore FRPS, EFIAP, MPAGB.BPE4* and the results were as follows:-

Prints

Canterbury: 69 points
Deal: 69 points
Folkestone: 67 points
Gateway:78 points
Isle of Thanet: 67 points

Projected Images

Canterbury:  60 points
Deal:  76 points
Folkestone:70 points
Gateway:81 points
Isle of Thanet:73 points

The overall winners who were presented with the Eurotunnel ChallengeTrophy were Gateway Camera Club with 159 points, The runners up with 145 points were Deal and District Camera Club

 On Monday,3rd March 2008 the Club visited the Isle of Thanet  Photographic Society to take part in a Print/Slide Battle The judge for the evening was John Wig more FRPS, EFIAP, MPAGB, APAGB and the results were as follows:-

Isle of Thanet:186 points

 Deal: 178 points
Isle of Thanet: 170 points

The overall winners by a close margin were Isle of Thanet with 356 points
