On Wednesday, Tony Catt started the evening with a slide appraisal. Showing his own slides, he explained about the use of depth of field, the use of light in photography and how to utilise various lenses. It was very interesting to see how a photograph can completely change using a variety of techniques.

June Hill continued the lecture in the second half of the evening with her photographs of flowers and again, explaining about the importance of depth of field and how it can be used in different ways.

Finally, Tony Catt appraised various slides which had been submitted by club members. He demonstrated how to crop slides simply and suggested ways of improving the images.

Thank you to Tony Catt and June Hill for their lectures and to the members who contributed slides for the appraisal.

It was so nice to see all the members contributing to a very successful evening which was extremely informative for all who attended.

New Technique item posted

February 1, 2008

During the digital night the question of how to convert to a different profile using Elements 3 was raised.

I have done a bit or research and there is a workaround, albeit a bit clunky, that I have posted on the Tutorials page.
